In the early 1990s, Imbruglia was known to audiences as Beth Brennan in the popular Australian soap Neighbours. Three years after leaving the program, Imbruglia launched a singing career with the international hit, "Torn". The subsequent debut album Left of the Middle (1997) sold over 6 million copies worldwide. He first learned to play trumpet in elementary school, later picking up the drums and guitar. La Roux (pronounced /lɑːˈruː/ in English, French: [laˈʁu]) are an English electropop and synthpop duo made up of singer, keyboardist, co-writer and co-producer Eleanor Jackson (born 12 March 1988),[1] and keyboardist, co-writer and co-producer Ben Langmaid. Jackson describes their respective roles as "very much a half and half sharing situation... not like a singer producer outfit", but also recognizing that it often can "look like a solo act".

Their music is influenced by 1980s British synthpop including Yazoo, Erasure, Depeche Mode, The Human League, Heaven 17 and Blancmange. The band's name originates from Jackson's red hair and tomboyish appearance, mingling the masculine (le roux) and feminine (la rousse) French terms; she has said:

To me, it means "red-haired one" – and it does, vaguely. It's just a male version of "red-haired one", which I think is even cooler, because I'm, well, androgynous anyway. So it kind of makes sense.

3 Doors Down is an American hard rock band from Escatawpa, Mississippi, formed in 1997. The band consists of Brad Arnold (vocals), Matt Roberts (guitars), Todd Harrell (bass), Chris Henderson (guitar), and Greg Upchurch (drums/percussion).[1]

The band rose to national fame with their first single, "Kryptonite" which charted in the top three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
