AMY WINEHOUSE: LOVE IS A LOSING GAME [10]

Amy Jade Winehouse (born 14 September 1983) is an English singer-songwriter, known for her eclectic mix of various musical genres including R&B, soul, and jazz.[2] Winehouse is best known for her powerful contralto vocals[3] and substance abuse and mental health issues[4][5] In 2005, she went through a period of drinking, heavy drug use, violent mood swings and weight loss.

Winehouse's 2003 debut album Frank was critically successful in the UK, and was nominated for the Mercury Prize. Her 2006 follow-up album Back to Black led to six Grammy Award nominations and five wins, tying the record for the most wins by a female artist in a single night, and made Winehouse the first British singer to win five Grammys, including three of the "Big Four": Best New Artist, Record of the Year and Song of the Year. On 14 February 2007, she won a BRIT Award for Best British Female Artist; she had also been nominated for Best British Album. She has won the Ivor Novello Award three times, one in 2004 for Best Contemporary Song (musically and lyrically) for "Stronger Than Me", one in 2007 for Best Contemporary Song for "Rehab", and one in 2008 for Best Song Musically and Lyrically for "Love Is a Losing Game", among other prestigious distinctions. The album was the third biggest seller of the 2000s in the United Kingdom. Winehouse has agreed to form a group with The Roots drummer ?uestlove.

Winehouse has been credited as being an influence in the rise in popularity of female musicians and soul music and revitalising British music. Winehouse's distinctive style has been the muse for fashion designers such as Karl Lagerfeld. The singer's problems with drug and alcohol abuse, as well as self-destructive behaviour, have become regular tabloid news since 2007. She and her former husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, were plagued by legal troubles that left him serving prison time. In 2008, Winehouse faced a series of health complications that threatened both her career and her life.[10][11]

1. TEARS DRY ON THEIR OWN

[Songwriters: Winehouse, Amy;]

All I can ever be to you is a darkness that we know
And this regret I got accustomed to
Once it was so right when we were at our high
Waiting for you in the hotel at night

I knew I hadn't met my match but every moment we could snatch
I don?t know why I got so attached
It?s my responsibility and you don?t owe nothing to me
But to walk away, I have no capacity

He walks away, the sun goes down
He takes the day but I?m gone
And in your way in this blue shade
My tears dry on their own

I don?t understand, why do I stress the man
When there?s so many better things at hand
We could a never had it all, we had to hit a wall
So this is inevitable withdrawal

Even if I stop wanting you, a perspective pushes through
I?ll be some next man?s other woman soon
I cannot play myself again, I should just be my own best friend
Not **** myself in the head with stupid men

He walks away, the sun goes down
He takes the day but I?m gone
And in your way in this blue shade
My tears dry on their own

So we are history, your shadow covers me
The sky above, a blaze

He walks away, the sun goes down
He takes the day but I?m gone
And in your way in this blue shade
My tears dry on their own

I wish I could sing no regrets and no emotional debts
'Cause as we kiss goodbye the sun sets
So we are history, the shadow covers me
The sky above, a blaze that only lovers see

He walks away, the sun goes down
He takes the day but I?m gone
And in your way my blue shade
My tears dry on their own

He walks away, the sun goes down
He takes the day but I am gone
And in your way my deep shade
My tears dry on their own

He walks away, the sun goes down
He takes the day but I?m gone
And in your way my deep shade
My tears dry

2. IN MY BED

Wish I could say it breaks my heart
like you did in the beginning
Its not that we grew apart
a nightingale no longer singing

Its something i know you cant do
seperate sex with emotion
I sleep alone the sun comes up
your still clinging to that notion

Every thing is slowing down
river of no return
recognise my every sound
there is nothing new to learn

you'll never get my mind right
like 2 ships passing in the night
in the night, in the night
want the same thing where we lay
otherwise mines a different way
a different way from where Im going
oh, its you again listen this isnt a reunion
so sorry if i turn my head
yours is a familliar face
but that dont make your place safe
in my bed my bed my bed

I never thought my memory
of what we had could be intruded
but I couldnt let it be
I needed it as much as you did

Now its not hard to understand
why we just speak at night
The only time I hold your hand
is to get the angle right
Everything is slowing down
river of no return
you recognise my every sound
theres nothing new to learn

you'll never get my mind right
like 2 ships passing in the night
in the night in the night
want the same thing where we lay
otherwise mines a different way
a different way from where im going
oh, its you again listen this isnt a reunion
so sorry if I turn my head
yours is a familliar face
but that dont make your place safe
in my bed, my bed, my ba ba dee dee bed

3. YOU KNOW I AM NO GOD

Songwriters: Winehouse, Amy;

Meet you downstairs in the bar and heard
Your rolled up sleeves in your skull T-shirt
You say, "What did you do with him today?"
And sniffed me out like I was Tanqueray

'Cause you're my fella, my guy
Hand me your Stella and fly
By the time I'm out the door
You tear men down like Roger Moore

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told you, I was trouble
You know that I'm no good

Upstairs in bed with my ex-boy
He's in a place but I can't get joy
Thinking on you in the final throes
This is when my buzzer goes

Run out to meet you, chips and pitta
You say, "When we married", 'cause you're not bitter

There'll be none of him no more
I cried for you on the kitchen floor

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told you, I was trouble
You know that I'm no good

Sweet reunion Jamaica and Spain
We're like how we were again
I'm in the tub, you on the seat
Lick your lips as a I soak my feet

And then you notice likkle carpet burns
My stomach drop and my guts churn
You shrug and it's the worst
Who truly stuck the knife in first

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told you, I was trouble
You know that I'm no good

I cheated myself
Like I knew I would
I told you, I was trouble
Yeah, you know that I'm no good

4. LOVE IS A LOSING GAME

Songwriters: Winehouse, Amy;

For you I was a flame
Love is a losing game
Five story fire as you came
Love is a losing game

Why do I wish I never played
Oh, what a mess we made
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game

Played out by the band
Love is a losing hand
More than I could stand
Love is a losing hand

Self professed, profound
Till the chips were down
Know you?re a gambling man
Love is a losing hand

Though I?m rather blind
Love is a fate resigned
Memories mar my mind
Love is a fate resigned

Over futile odds
And laughed at by the gods
And now the final frame
Love is a losing game

5. F**K ME PUMPS

When you walk in the bar,
And you dressed like a star,
Rockin' your F me pumps.

And the men notice you,
With your Gucci bag crew,
Can't tell who he's lookin' to.

Cuz you all look the same,
Everyone knows your name,
And that's you whole claim to fame.

Never miss a night,
Cuz your dream in life,
Is to be a footballers wife.
You don't like players,
That's what you say-a,
But you really wouldn't mind a millionaire.

You don't like ballers,
They don't do nothing for ya,
But you'd love a rich man six foot two or taller.

You're more than a fan,
Lookin' for a man,
But you end up with one-nights-stands.

He could be your whole life,
If you got past one night,
But that part never goes right.

In the morning you're vexed,
He's onto the next,
And you didn't even get no taste.

Don't be too upset,
If they call you a skank,
Cuz like the news everyday you get pressed.

You don't like players,

That's what you say-a,
But you really wouldn't mind a millionaire.

Or them big ballers,
Don't do nothing for ya.
But you'd love a rich man six foot two or taller,

You can't sit down right,
Cuz you jeans are too tight,
And your lucky its ladies night.

With your big empty purse,
Every week it gets worse,
At least your breasts cost more than hers.

So you did Miami,
Cuz you got there for free,
But somehow you missed the plane.

You drank too much martini
Met somebody,(nicky)
And spent the night not getting depressed

Without girls like you,
There'd be no fun,
We'd go to the club and not see anyone.

Without girls like you,
There's no nightlife,
All those men just go home to their wives.

Don't be mad at me,
Cuz you're pushing thirty one
And your old tricks no longer work.

You should have known from the job,
That you always get dumped,
So dust off your fuck me pumps

6. ALL MY LOVIN

Close your eyes and I'll kiss you
Tomorrow I'll miss you
Remember I'll always be true

And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you

I'll pretend that I'm kissing
The lips that I am missing
And hope that my dreams will come true

And then while I'm away
I'll write home every day
And I'll send all my loving to you

All my loving, I will send to you

7. JUST FRIENDS

When will we get the time to be just friends
It's never safe for us not even in the evening
'cos I've been drinking
Not in the morning where your shit works
It's always dangerous when everybody's sleeping
And I've been thinking
Can we be alone?
Can we be alone?

When will we get the time to be just friends
When will we get the time to be just friends

And no I'm not ashamed but the guilt will kill you
If she don't first
I'll never love you like her
Though we need to find the time
To just do this shit together
For it gets worse
I wanna touch you
But that just hurts

When will we get the time to be just just friends
When will we get the time to be just friends, just friends
When will we get the time to be just friends, just friends
When will we get the time to be just friends, just friends
Just friends

8. YOU SEND MY FLYING [ CHERRY]

Lent you outsiders and my new Badu
while you were thinking I didn't have a clue
tough to sort files with your voice in my head
So then I bribed you downstairs with a malboro red
and now I feel so small discovering you knew
How much more torture would you have put me through?
you probably saw me laughing at all your jokes
or how I did not mind when you stole all my smokes
And although my pride is not easy to disturb
you sent me flying when you kicked me to the curb
With your battered jeans (yeah) and your beastie tee
Now I can't work like this with you next to me

And although he is nothing in the scheme of my years
it just serves to blugdeon my futile tears
And I'm not use to this,no no I observe, I don't chase
But now i sit with consequences thrust in my face
And the melodramas of my day deliver blows,
that surpass your rejection it just goes to show,
a simple attraction that reflects right back to me

so I'm not as into you as I appear to be.

although my pride yeah is not easily disturbed yeah yeah
you sent me flying when you kicked me to the curb
With you battered jeans yeah and your beasties tee
Now I can't work like this with you next to me

His message was brutal but the delivery was kind
maybe if I get this down I'll get it off my mind
oh it serves to condition me and smoothen my kinks,
despite my frustation for the way that he thinks.
and I knew the truth, when it came, would be to that effect
At least you're attracted to me which I did not expect
didn't think you get my number down and such
but I never hated myself for my age so much yeah

And although my pride yeah is not easily disturbed
you sent me flying when you kicked me to the curb
so with your battered jeans and your beasties tee
Now I can't work like this with you next to me

9. REHAB

[Songwriters: Winehouse, Amy;]

They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"
Yes, I've been black but when I come back you'll know, know, know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab, I won't go, go, go

I'd rather be at home with Ray
I ain't got seventeen days
'Cause there's nothing, there's nothing you can teach me
That I can't learn from Mr. Hathaway

I didn't get a lot in class
But I know we don't come in a shot glass

They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"
Yes, I've been black but when I come back you'll know know know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab, I won't go, go, go

The man said, "Why do you think you here?"
I said, "I got no idea"
I'm gonna, I'm gonna lose my baby
So I always keep a bottle near

He said, "I just think you're depressed
Kiss me, yeah baby and go rest"

They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"
Yes, I've been black but when I come back you'll know, know, know

I don't ever wanna drink again
I just, ooh, I just need a friend
I'm not gonna spend ten weeks
Have everyone think I'm on the mend

And it's not just my pride
It's just 'til these tears have dried

They tried to make me go to rehab, I said, "No, no, no"
Yes, I've been black but when I come back you'll know, know, know
I ain't got the time and if my daddy thinks I'm fine
He's tried to make me go to rehab, I won't go, go, go

10. BACK TO BLACK

He left no time to regret
Kept his dick wet
With his same old safe bet
Me and my head high
And my tears dry
Get on without my guy
You went back to what you knew
So far removed from all that we went through
And I tread a troubled track
My odds are stacked
I'll go back to black

We only said good-bye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to.....

I go back to us

I love you much
It's not enough
You love blow and I love puff
And life is like a pipe
And I'm a tiny penny rolling up the walls inside

We only said goodbye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to

Black, black, black, black, black, black, black,
I go back to
I go back to

We only said good-bye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to

We only said good-bye with words
I died a hundred times
You go back to her
And I go back to black

1. SOMEDAY WHEN I STOP LOVING YOU

One foot on the bus
Bout half past nine
I knew that you were leaving this time
I thought about laying down in its path
Thinking that you might get off for that

I remember that night we laid in bed
Naming all our kids that we hadn't had yet
One for your grandma and one for mine
Said we'd draw straws when it came time

I'll move on baby just like you
When the desert floods and the grass turns blue
When a sailing ship don't need her moon
It'll break my heart but I'll get through
Someday when I stop loving you

I bet all I had on a thing called love

Guess in the end it wasn't enough
And it's hard to watch you leave right now
I'm gonna have to let you go somehow
Somehow

I'll move on baby just like you
When the desert floods and the grass turns blue
When a sailing ship don't need her moon
It'll break my heart but I'll get through
Someday when I stop loving you
Oooh.. oh someday.. oh someday

I'll move on baby just like you
When the desert floods and the grass turns blue
When a sailing ship don't need her moon
It'll break my heart but I'll get through
Someday when I stop loving you

2. DON'T FORGET TO REMEMBER ME

[Songwriters: Hayes, Morgane; Gorley, Ashley Glenn; Lovelace, Kelley;]

Eighteen years had come and gone
For Momma they flew by
But for me they drug on and on

We were loadin' up that Chevy
Both tryin' not to cry
Momma kept on talkin', puttin' off goodbye
Then she took my hand and said
?Baby don't forget?

?Before you hit the highway
You better stop for gas
And there's a fifty in the ashtray
In case you run short on cash?

?Here's a map and here's a Bible
If you ever lose your way
Just one more thing before you leave
Don't forget to remember me?

This downtown apartment
Sure makes me miss home
And those bills there on the counter
Keep tellin' me I'm on my own

And just like every Sunday

I called Mama up last night
And even when it's not
I tell her everything's all right
Before we hung up I said
?Hey Mama don't forget?

?To tell my baby sister
I'll see her in the fall
And tell Mee-Mal that I miss her
Yeah I should give her a call?

?And make sure you tell daddy
That I'm still his little girl
Yeah I still feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be
But don't forget to remember me?

Tonight I find myself kneelin' by the bed to pray
I haven't done this in a while
So I don't know what to say

But Lord I feel so small sometimes
In this big old place
Yeah I know there's more important things
But don't forget to remember me
Don't forget to remember me

3. I TOLD YOU SO

Suppose I called you up tonight and told you that I loved you
And suppose I said "I wanna come back home".
And suppose I cried and said "I think I finally learned my lesson"
And I'm tired a-spendin' all my time alone.

If I told you that I realized you're all I ever wanted
And it's killin' me to be so far away.
Would you tell me that you loved me too and would we cry together?
Or would you simply laugh at me and say:

"I told you so, oh I told you so
I told you some day you come crawling back and asking me to take you in
I told you so, but you had to go
Now I found somebody new and you will never break my heart in two again".

If I got down on my knees and told you I was yours forever
Would you get down on yours too and take my hand?
Would we get that old time feelin', would we laugh and talk for hours
The way we did when our love first began?

Would you tell me that you'd missed me too and that you'd been so lonely
And you waited for the day that I returned.
And we'd live in love forever and that I'm your one and only
Or would you say the tables finally turned?

Would you say:

"I told you so, oh I told you so
I told you some day you come crawling back and asking me to take you in
I told you so, but you have to go
Now I found somebody new and you will never break my heart in two again".

"Now I found somebody new and you will never break my heart in two again".

4. LAST NAME

{Songwriters: Underwood, Carrie; Laird, Luke; Lindsey, Hillary;]

Last night I got served a little bit too much of that poison, baby
Last night I did things I'm not proud of and I got a little crazy
Last night I met a guy on the dance floor and I let him call me baby

And I don't even know his last name
My momma would be so ashamed
It started off, "Hey cutie, where are you from?"
And then it turned into, "Oh no, what have I done?"
And I don't even know his last name

And he left the club about around 3 o'clock in the mornin?
His Pinto is sittin? there in the parkin? lot when it should?ve been a warnin?
And I had no clue what I was gettin? into so I blame it on the Cuervo
Oh, where did my manners go?

And I don't even know his last name
My momma would be so ashamed
It started off, "Hey cutie, where are you from?"
And then it turned into, "Oh no, what have I done?"
And I don't even know his last name, here we go!
Today I woke up thinkin' ?bout Elvis somewhere in Vegas, I'm not sure
How I got here or how this ring on my left hand just appeared
Outta nowhere, I gotta go, I take the chips and the Pinto and hit the road
They say what happens here stays here, all of this'll disappear
It's just one little problem

I don't even know my last name
My momma would be so ashamed
It started off, "Hey cutie, where are you from?"
And then it turned into, "Oh no, what have I done?"
And I don't even know my last name

What have I done? What have I done? What have I done?
Oh, what have I done? I don't even know my last name
When it turned into, "Oh no, what have I done?"
And I don't even know my last name

It started off, "Hey cutie, where are you from?"
And then it turned into, "Oh no, what have I done?"
And I don't even know my last name, oh yeah

5. JUST A DREAM

[Songwriters: Lindsey, Hillary; Mcewan, Steve; Sampson, Gordie;]

It was two weeks after the day she turned 18
All dressed in white, goin? to the church that night
She had his box of letters in the passenger seat
Six pins in her shoe, somethin? borrowed, somethin? blue

And when the church doors opened up wide
She put her veil down, tryin? to hide the tears
Oh, she just couldn?t believe it
She heard the trumpets from the military band
And the flowers fell out of her hands

Baby, why'd you leave me? Why'd you have to go?
I was countin? on forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe

It's like I'm lookin? from a distance, standin? in the background
Everybody's sayin?, he's not comin? home now
This can't be happenin? to me, this is just a dream

The preacher man said, ?Let's bow our heads and pray
Lord, please lift his soul and heal this hurt"
Then the congregation all stood up and sang
The saddest song that she ever heard

And then they handed her a folded up flag
And she held on to all she had left of him
Oh, well, what could?ve been?
And then the guns rang one last shot
And it felt like a bullet in her heart

Baby, why'd you leave me? Why'd you have to go?
I was countin? on forever, now I'll never know
I can't even breathe

It's like I'm lookin? from a distance, standin? in the background
Everybody's sayin?, he's not comin? home now
This can't be happenin? to me, this is just a dream

Ooh, baby, why'd you leave me? Why'd you have to go?
I was countin? on forever, now I'll never know
Oh, I'll never know

It's like I'm lookin? from a distance, standin? in the background
Everybody's sayin?, he's not comin? home now
This can't be happenin? to me, this is just a dream

Oh, this is just a dream
It?s just a dream, yeah, yeah

6. SOME HEARTS

I've never been the kind that you'd call lucky
Always stumbling' around in circles
But I must have stumbled into something
Look at me
Am I really alone with you
I wake up feeling like my life's worth living
Can't recall when I last felt that way
Guess it must be all this love you're giving
Never knew never knew it could be like this
But I guess

Some hearts
They just get all the right breaks
Some hearts have the stars on their side
Some hearts,
They just have it so easy
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes
Some hearts just get lucky, lucky sometimes

Now who'd have thought someone like you could love me
You're the last thing my heart expected
Who'd have thought I'd ever find somebody
Someone who someone who makes me feel like this

Well I guess

Some hearts
They just get all the right breaks
Some hearts have the stars on their side, yes
Some hearts,
They just have it so easy
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes
Ohhhhhh

Even hearts like mine
Get lucky, lucky sometimes

Even hearts like mine
Ohhhhhhhh

Some hearts,
They just get all the right breaks
Some hearts have the stars on their side
Some hearts,
They just have it so easy
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes

Some hearts
They just get all the right breaks
Some hearts have the stars on their side, yes
Some hearts,
They just have it so easy
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes
Some hearts just get lucky sometimes

7. WHEN YOU TELL ME THAT YOU LOVE ME

I wanna call the stars down from the sky
I wanna live a day that never dies
I wanna change the world only for you
All the impossible I wanna do

I wanna hold you close under the rain
I wanna kiss your smile and feel the pain
I know what’s beautiful looking at you
In a world of lies you are the truth

And baby every time you touch me I become a hero
I’ll make you safe no matter where you are
And bring you everything you ask for, nothing is above me
I’m shining like a candle in the dark
When you tell me that you love me

I wanna make you see just what I was
Show you the loneliness and what it does
You walked into my life to stop my tears
Everything’s easy now I have you here

And baby every time you touch me I become a hero
I’ll make you safe no matter where you are
And bring you everything you ask for, nothing is above me
I’m shining like a candle in the dark
When you tell me that you love me

In a world without you I will always hunger
All I need is your love to make me stronger

Every time you touch me I become a hero
I’ll make you safe no matter where you are
And bring you everything you ask for, nothing is above me
I’m shining like a candle in the dark
When you tell me that you love me
When you tell me that you love me
When you tell me that you love me, oh
When you tell me that you love me

8. UNDO IT

[Songwriters: Dioguardi, Kara; Frederiksen, Marti; Laird, Luke; Underwood, Carrie;]

I should've known by the way you passed me by
There was something in your eyes and it wasn't right
I should've walked, but I never had the chance
Everything got out of hand, and I let it slide

Now I only have myself to blame
For falling for your stupid games
I wish my life could be the way
It was before I saw your face

You stole my happy, you made me cry
Took the lonely, and took me for a ride
And I wanna undo it

You had my heart, now I want it back
I'm starting to see everything you lack
Boy you blew it, you put me through it
I wanna undo it

Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na na

Now your photos don't have a picture frame
And I never say your name, and I never will
And all your things, well, I threw them in the trash
And I'm not even sad

Now you only have yourself to blame
For playing all those stupid games
You're always going to be the same
Oh no, you'll never change

You stole my happy, you made me cry
Took the lonely, and took me for a ride
And I wanna undo it

You had my heart, now I want it back
I'm starting to see everything you lack
Boy you blew it, you put me through it
I wanna undo it

Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na
Na, na, na, na, na na

You want my future, you can't have it
I'm still trying to erase you from my past
I need you gone so fast

You stole my happy, you made me cry
Took the lonely, and took me for a ride
And I wanna undo it

You had my heart, now I want it back
I'm starting to see everything you lack
Boy you blew it, you put me through it
I wanna undo it

You stole my happy, you made me cry
Took the lonely, and took me for a ride
Boy you blew it, you put me through it
I wanna undo it

9. THAT IS WHERE IT IS

In the circles I've been running,
I've covered many miles,
And I could search forever for what's right before my eyes,
Just when I thought I'd found it,
It was nothing like I'd planned,
When I got my heart around it, it slipped right through my hands,
Here with you I feel it,
I close my eyes and see it,

In a midnight talk, in a morning kiss,
When I'm in your arms, that's where it is,
When we're tangled up and can't resist,
When we feel that rush, that's where it is,
That's where it is

When I'm crashing through the madness,
Not sure who I'm supposed to be,
When I'm caught up in the darkness,
It's your hand that's leading me,
You bring me back to solid ground,
You lift me up right here, right now

In a midnight talk, in a morning kiss,
When I'm in your arms, that's where it is,
When we're tangled up and can't resist,
When we feel that rush, that's where it is

[Bridge]
It's a life time filled with tight embraces
The biggest things in the smallest places,

In a midnight talk, in a morning kiss,
When I'm in your arms, that's where it is,
When we're tangled up and can't resist,
When we feel that rush, that's where it is

In the sweetest smile, on a night like this,
And a tender touch, that's where it is,
When we're tangled up, and can't resist,
When we feel that rush, that's where it is,
That's where it is....

10. COW BOY CASANOVA

Songwriters: Elizondo, Michael A Jr; James, Brett; Underwood, Carrie;

You better take it from me
That boy is like a disease
You run and you try and you're tryin' to hide
And you're wondering why you can't get free

He's like a curse, he's like a drug
You'll get addicted to his love
You wanna get out, but he's holdin' you down
'Cause you can't live without one more touch

He's a, a good time, cowboy Casanova
Leaning up against the record machine
He looks like a cool drink of water
But he's candy-coated misery

He's the devil in disguise, a snake with blue eyes
And he only comes out at night
Gives you feelings that you don't want to fight
You better run for your life

I see that look on your face
You ain't hearing what I say
So I'll say it again, 'cause I been where you been
And I know how it ends, you can't get away

Don't even look in his eyes
He'll tell you nothing but lies
And you wanna believe but you won't be deceived
If you listen to me and take my advice

He's a, a good time, cowboy Casanova
Leaning up against the record machine
He looks like a cool drink of water
But he's candy-coated misery

He's the devil in disguise, a snake with blue eyes
And he only comes out at night
Gives you feelings that you don't want to fight
You better run for your life

Run run away, don't let him mess with your mind
He'll tell you anything you wanna hear
He'll break your heart, it's just a matter of time
But just remember

He's a, a good time, cowboy Casanova
Leaning up against the record machine
He looks like a cool drink of water
But he's candy-coated misery

He's the devil in disguise, a snake with blue eyes
And he only comes out at night
Gives you feelings that you don't want to fight
You better run for your life

Oh, you better run for your life
Oh, you better run for your life

11. INSIDE YOUR HEAVEN

[Songwriters: Nylen, Per; Carlsson, Andreas; Kotecha, Savan;]

I've been down, now I'm blessed
I felt a revelation coming around
I guess it's right, it's so amazing
Every time I see you I'm alive

You're all I've got
You lift me up
The sun and the moonlight
All my dreams are in your eyes

I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
Where the storm blows your way
I wanna be the earth that holds you
Every bit of air you're breathing in, a soothin' wind
I wanna be inside your heaven

When we touch
When we love
The stars light up
The wrong becomes undone

Naturally
My soul surrenders
The sun and the moonlight
All my dreams are in your eyes

And I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
Where the storm blows your way

And I wanna be the earth that holds you
Every bit of air you're breathing in, a soothin' wind
I wanna be inside your heaven

When minutes turn to days and years
When mountains fall, I'll still be here
Holding you until the day I die

I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
Where the storm blows your way
And I wanna be inside in your heaven
I wanna be inside
Where the storm blows your way

And I wanna be inside your heaven
Take me to the place you cry from
Where the storm blows your way
And I wanna be the earth that holds you
Every bit of air you're breathing in, a soothing wind
I wanna be inside your heaven

1. I WILL HOLD MY BREATH

[Songwriters: Dow Smith, Finlay Graham; Goulding, Ellie;]

Breathe air, you're not used to
Tread floors, you don't fall through
Make waves, you crash a symbol hard
Follow no one, always play the wrong card

Waste days in foreign places
Shed lights on your better side
Reassure me that you'll wait for me
Wait for me as long as it takes
And I'll hold my breath, I'll hold my breath

Until you see me in your dreams
We'll stay awake beneath the trees
We'll watch the buildings turn to dust
A sky of diamonds just for us

You are the risk I'll always take
The only branch I'll never break
Those fears, we'll blow them all way
We'll blow them all way

Fight fires in your best clothes
Touch skin with your eyes closed
Chase thunder with the volume down
Pack a suitcase, wander to the next town

Force quit on your losing streak

Solve a riddle in a magazine, be tongue in cheek
Tell me that we're still too young
That we're still too young and I'll hold my tongue

Until you see me in your dreams
We'll stay awake beneath the trees
We'll watch the buildings turn to dust
A sky of diamonds just for us

You are the risk I'll always take
The only branch I'll never break
Those fears, we'll blow them all way
We'll blow them all way

I'm here, I'm here to take you
I'll swim, I'll swim to save you
No fall, I'm here to catch you
I'll swim, I will swim to save you

Until you see me in your dreams
We'll stay awake beneath the trees
We'll watch the buildings turn to dust
A sky of diamonds just for us

You are the risk I'll always take
The only branch I'll never break
Those fears, we'll blow them all way
We'll blow them all way

2. EVERY TIME YOU GO

[Songwriters: Dow Smith, Finlay Graham; Fortis, John Frederik; Goulding, Ellie;]

Every time you go
Every time you go

It starts with a picture
And it sits in your frame
And we part with a letter
And it ends in my name

It starts with forever
And it ends with a touch
And I know that you're clever
And I don't ask for much

Maybe we forgot all the things we are
We are together

You said I'm arresting
You said I had heat
I really thought that we'd go further
The second time we'd meet

Now I'm tired of trying to keep you
All I want to do is sleep
And perhaps when I'm sleeping
You'll get back on your feet

Maybe we forgot all the things we are
We are together

Wake me up
Wake me up
Stop my fall
Every time you go

Tape me up
Then break me up
Ever so gently
When I'm at my weakest

It's not so hard
Every time you go

I run a mount to meet you

When I knew a storm had come
I felt the rain on your face
And the damage you had done

I know what you're thinking
It will never be the end
And when the storm is over
You won't see me again

Didn't know the price I paid for all the times I stayed
When we were together

Wake me up
Wake me up
Stop my fall
Every time you go

Tape me up
Then break me up
Ever so gently
When I'm my weakest

It's not so hard

Maybe we forgot, are we awake or not?
Maybe we forgot, are we awake or not?
Maybe we forgot, are we awake or not?
Or maybe we forgot

Wake me up
Wake me up
Stop my fall
Every time you go

Tape me up
Then break me up
Ever so gently
When I'm at my weakest

Wake me up
Wake me up
Stop my fall
Every time you go

Tape me up
Then break me up
Ever so gently
When I'm at my weakest

It's not so hard
Every time you go

3. BELIEVE ME

Listen, I can hear a voice,
I need a helping hand,
just to beat the void.
I need a mission,
a dream to stop me talking to myself
and now the silence is broken,
and my soul is to sell
I need to pick up the pieces
to scatter to the wind
Hold the city to your ears
you can hear the wind come in

But you change the world with a
sound and you can't make it right when it's
wrong

I can't stop this music traveling round with
me wherever I go, it's playing for you.
I can't stop this voice unraveling round
me whatever I do. It's talking to you
The world dances to the rhythm of its own
heart beating for you, however you lose
So speak to me - believe me.

Don't let it slip, through your fingertips.
When there's a ghost,
don't try to reason with it
Because now I'm tired, I'm weird,
so I won't miss a think.
I rope my words out to dry
and I've forgotten what to sing
But you can't change the world
with a song and you can't make it right
when it's wrong

If that's what it was to you,
then that's what it was to me.

4. WISH I STAYED

[Songwriters: Goulding, Ellie;]

Why can't we speak another language
One we all agree on?
Why when men look outside, they see houses
Instead of the fields they grew from?

We are constantly uprooted from them
Making us tiresome and fearful
Can you get up right now
Endeavor to free fall?

'Cause you can fall if you want to
It's just a matter of how far
You've treasured our hometown
You've forgotten where you are

And it will stay with you
Till your mind's been found
And it has been found wandering around

With that skipping rope, the trampoline
The crafty smoke that made us choke
But we didn't give up hope

It's just the simple ways of getting paid
The carelessness of running away
I wish I stayed, I wish I stayed, I wish I stayed

Patterns all arranged in my background
Pillars and posts keeping this country on form
Letters were all sent with no addresses
So that people can't discover
That we're always under cover

Why do I always draw triangles
Instead of words this paper deserves?
'Cause you see, I don't own my clothes but I own my mind
And it's not what you've lost but it's what you find

With that skipping rope, the trampoline
The crafty smoke that made us choke
But we didn't give up hope

It's the simple ways of getting paid
The carelessness of running away
I wish I stayed, I wish I stayed

'Cause you can fall if you want to
It's just a matter of how far
You've treasured our hometown
You've forgotten where you are

And it will stay with you
Till your mind's been found
And it has been found wandering around

With that skipping rope, the trampoline
The crafty smoke that made us choke
But we didn't give up hope

It's just the simple ways of getting paid
The carelessness of running away
I wish I stayed, I wish I stayed, I wish I stayed
I wish I stayed, I wish I stayed

5. THIS LOVE WILL BE YOUR DOWNFALL

Who are we to be emotional?
Who are we to play with hearts and throw away it all?
Oh, who are we to turn each other's heads?
Who are we to find ourselves in other people's beds?

Oh, I don't like the way I never listen to myself
I feel like I'm on fire and I'm trying to cry for help
Oh, I don't think you owe me much at all

This love is be and end all
This love will be your downfall
This love is be and end all
This love will be your downfall

I'm feeling down about this love

Who are you to make me feel so good?
Who are we to tell ourselves that we're misunderstood?
Oh, who am I to say I'm always yours?
]
Who am I to choose the boy that everyone adores?
Oh, I don't see a reason why we can't just be apart
We're falling on each other like we're always in the dark
Oh, I don't think you know me much at all, at all

This love is be and end all
This love will be your downfall
This love is be and end all
This love will be your downfall
This love is be and end all
This love will be your downfall
(At all)

This love is not what you want
This heart will never be yours
This love is be and end all
This love will be your downfall
This love is be and end all
This love will be your downfall

6. LITTLE DREAMS

If a plane crashed into my room
I wouldn't even flinch, I couldn't try to
move. My mind is on you, my mind is on
you

If the streetlight smashed above me
I wouldn't move an inch. Turn the glass
into stars and your face is the moon
And the night turns to you, cos my mind is
on you

You've got me caught in a place
Panic for a minute, got my brain in a
daze, I wish you weren't in it, there are so
many ways to lose your attention.
You can break everything but so what I
can take anything, I can take anything,
I can take anything

If electric charges shock me, I'd smile
and fold my arms, I'd feel nothing new,

because my mind is on you

And if the floor gave way to my shoes,
I wouldn't try to fly, I can't explain what it
would feel, I just feel you

You've get me caught in a place
Panic for a minute, got my brain in a
daze I wish you weren't in it, there are
so many ways to lose your attention.
You can break everything but so what?
I can take anything

You're the heat in my bones, but you
break me with stones. You're the heat in
my bones, but you break me with stones
If a plane crashed into my room
I wouldn't even flinch, I couldn't try to
move. My mind is on you, my mind is on
you

7. FIGHTER PLANES

Stones falling down
Rollercoaster, heart pound?
Fears overplayed...
Two left feet emergency.

Wide open space
Catch my tail,
Fishing net.
Fold up my frown
Take the rage
And smooth it out.

Stick to my skin,
Paper mache face to live in.
Same view to paint,
Watercolour your name

Face your mistakes
(You will never have to feel that way again)
Oil your chains, under rate.
(You will never have to feel that way again)
Read every page,
Press the dents (of my) fighter plane

I held the fort, and I swung my sword I have muted the screams I have broken the falls oh I have fought, and I swung my sword I have muted the screams I have broken the falls

Fighter Plane
Fly away!

8. THE END

We've only ever kissed lying down
We've only ever touched
When there's no one else around
I can be elusive
If you want me to
I'm not being intrusive
I just wish I knew the truth

As to why
I wait for you
Longer than the average person would
And why
I think about you
More than I think one should

Our bodies fit together
Like a make-shift puzzle
And it's clear to see why you puzzle me
And you turn your frame
And you whisper my name
As though I am a burden

Cause I'm making up for lost time
And I'm making up for you
And I'm waking up from last night
And I'm waking up with you
So what's new?
So what's new?

I am at your house
So I belong to you for now
Trying to impress you
But lord I don't know how
I can be a statue
If you want me to
I'm not being difficult
I just need to know the truth

As to why
I'm wanting you
And I would take you if I could
And why I'm still (lay?) here
It's something I still haven't understood

Our hands rest together
Like pieces of paper
But they're always blank
When I hold your hand
And it gave you a fright
When I stayed the night
And you gave yourself to me

Cause I'm making up for lost time
And I'm making up for you
And I'm waking up from last night
And I'm waking up with you
So what's new?
So what's new?

It's not the end
It's not the end
So don't lets pretend

Cause I'm making up for lost time
And I'm making up for you
And I'm waking up from last night
And I'm making up for you
So what's new?
So what's new?
So what's new?

9. YOUR SONG

l
It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside
I'm not one of those who can easily hide
I don't have much money but boy if I did
I'd buy a big house where we both could live

So excuse me forgetting but these things I do
You see I've forgotten if they're green or they're blue
Anyway the thing is what I really mean
Yours are the sweetest eyes I've ever seen

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you're in the world

If I was a sculptor, but then again, no
Or a girl who makes potions in a travelling show
I know it's not much but it's the best I can do
My gift is my song and this one's for you

And you can tell everybody this is your song
It may be quite simple but now that it's done
I hope you don't mind
I hope you don't mind that I put down in words
How wonderful life is now you're in the world

MARTINA MCBRIDE: SAFE IN THE HANDS OF LOVE [10]

Martina McBride (born Martina Mariea Schiff on July 29, 1966, in Sharon, Kansas) is an American country music singer and songwriter. McBride has been called the "CĂ©line Dion of Country Music" for her big-voiced ballads and soprano range.

McBride was signed to RCA Records in 1991 and made her debut the following year as a neo-traditionalist country singer with the single, "The Time Has Come."[2] It was not until 1997, when she released her fourth album, Evolution, that she broke through into the country music industry with a new pop-styled crossover sound, similar to that of Faith Hill and Shania Twain. From that point on, McBride has had a string of major hit singles on the Billboard country chart and occasionally on the adult contemporary chart. Five of these singles went to #1 on the country chart between 1995 and 2001, and one peaked at #1 on the adult contemporary chart in 2003.

McBride has recorded a total of nine studio albums, one "greatest hits" compilation, one "live" album, a "Christmas" compilation, as well as two additional compilation albums. Seven of her studio albums and two of her compilations have received an RIAA certification of "Gold", or higher. Worldwide, she has sold over 18 million albums. In addition, Martina has won the Country Music Association's "Female Vocalist of the Year" award four times (tied with Reba McEntire for the most wins) and the Academy of Country Music's "Top Female Vocalist" award three times. In her 19 year career she has accomplished many things including being named 2007's Top Grossing Country Artist of the year, and the over all Top Grossing Female in 2007 behind only Gwen Stefani.

1. HERE IN MY HEART

Wondering, waiting
Restless for a sign
I thought you walked so slow
In my haste I left you behind
Caught in the pace of this madness
Searching for shelter I find

That here in my heart there's a refuge waiting
Here in my heart you just won't let me go
I could run away run away
But you stay here in my heart

Meaning, purpose
Got lost in pursuit of my dreams
I've been longing, aching
In quest for a love that's supreme
I couldn't see you were reaching
But I should've known all along

That here in my heart there's a refuge waiting
Here in my heart you just won't let me go
I could run away run away
But you stay here in my heart
There's a refuge waiting
Here in my heart you just won't let me go

I could run away run away
But you stay here in my heart

I couldn't see you were reaching
But I should've known all along

That here in my heart there's a refuge waiting
Here in my heart you just won't let me go
I could run away run away
But you stay here in my heart
There's a refuge waiting
Here in my heart you just won't let me go
I could run away run away
I could run away run away
I could run away run away
But you stay here in my heart
(Here in my heart) Here in my heart
(Here in my heart) Here in my heart
(Here in my heart) Here in my heart
(Here in my heart) Here in my heart

2. TO DAY I STARTED LOVING YOU AGAIN

[Chorus:]
Today I started loving you again

I'm right back where I've really always been
I got over you just long enough to let my heartache mend
And then today I started loving you again

What a fool I was to think I could get by
With only these few million tears I've cried

I guess I should have known the worst was yet to come
And the crying time for me had just begun

[Repeat Chorus Twice]

Today I started loving you again

Today I started loving you
Today I started loving you again

3. WHAT CHILD IS THIS

What child is this, who, laid to rest
On Mary's lap, is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
While shepherds watch are keeping?

This, this is Christ the King,
Whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh,
Come peasant king to own Him,
The King of kings, salvation brings,
Let loving hearts enthrone Him.

Raise, raise the song on high,
The Virgin sings her lullaby:
Joy, joy, for Christ is born,
The Babe, the Son of Mary!

4. I JUST CALLED YOU MINE

[Songwriters: Cates, Jess Clayton; Lacy, Ty; Matkosky, Dennis;]

I pinch myself sometimes to make sure
I'm not in a dream, that's how it seems
I close my eyes and breathe in the sweetest moments
I've ever known, it feels like home

And here I am, I wanna be your everything
There you are turning winter into spring

And everyone that sees you always wants to know you
And everyone that knows you always has a smile
You're a standing ovation after years of waiting
For a chance to fall and shine
Everyone calls you amazing yeah, I just call you mine

I fall apart and just a word from you somehow seems to fix
Whatever's wrong, oh, you reach into the weakest moments
And remind me that I'm strong, you've gotta know
I'd be a fool not to see or even worse

To forget that you're more than I deserved

'Cause everyone that sees you always wants to know you
And everyone that knows you always has a smile
You're a standing ovation after years of waiting
For a chance to fall and shine
Everyone calls you amazing, I just call you mine

Nothing makes sense when you're not here
As it my whole world disappears
Without you what's the point of anything?

'Cause everyone that sees you always wants to know you
And everyone that knows you always has a smile
You're the dream that I've been chasing after years of waiting
For a chance to fall and shine
Everyone calls you amazing, I just call you mine
Everyone calls you amazing, yeah, yeah, I just call you mine

5. TRUE LOVE WAYS

Just you know why - why you and I
will by and by - know true love ways

Sometimes we'll sigh - sometimes we'll cry
and we'll know why just you and I know true love ways

Throughout the days our true love ways
will bring us joys to share with those who really care

Sometimes we'll sigh - sometimes we'll cry
and we'll know why just you and I know true love ways.

6. I CAN'T STOP LOVING YOU

I can't stop loving you
So I've made up my mind
To live in memory
Of such an old lonesome time

I can't stop wanting you
It's useless to say
So I'll just live my life
In dreams of yesterday.

Those happy hours
That we once knew
Though long ago,
They still make me blue

They say that time
Heals a broken heart
But time has stood still
Since we've been apart.

7. I'M TRYING

[Songwriters: Scott, Darrell; Sillers, Tia;]

She said, I'm not pointing fingers and he said, yes you are
'Cause you wouldn't bring it up if you weren't
And if I told you I'd been walking out in the dark night thinking
Would you take his truth as alcoholic's word?

Oh, I can't change what's done is done but I can tell you this
Not a day goes by that I don't curse myself and all my sins
And I need you to hold on to while this part of me is dying
Though I haven't kicked the demons that haunt me

I'm trying, I'm trying

She sat down on the floor and said, I wish I was stronger
Right now I feel as fragile as glass
And I want to believe you, believe what's held you, has freed you
And I hate these doubts that keep on coming back

My parents think I'm crazy for hanging on this long
But there's nothing I want more for us than to prove to them they're wrong
And I don't wanna be afraid, I don't wanna think you're lying
And though I haven't found the faith, that I need

I'm trying, I'm trying

He asked, do you want me to leave? 'Cause if you do, you know I will
But she said, much to his disbelief, no, I love you still, oh, I love you still

He said, I don't know why I've been the fool but I can tell you this
Not a day goes by that I don't curse myself and all my sins
Then he dropped down to his knees, by now they both were crying
He said, I haven't been the man I wanna be

But, I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying, I'm trying

8. LOVE'S GONNA LIVE HERE AGAIN

Oh the sun's gonna shine in my life
once more love's gonna live here again
Things're gonna be the way they were before
love's gonna live here again
Love's gonna live here love's gonna live here
love's gonna live here again
No more loneliness only happiness
love's gonna live here again

[guitar]
I hear bells're ringin' birds're singin'
love's gonna live here again
And I hear bees a hummin' well
I know the days're comin'
love's gonna live here again
Love's gonna live here...

9. SAFE IN THE HANDS OF LOVE

My heart's not ready for the rocking chair
I need somebody who really cares
So tired of livin' solitaire
Someday I'm gonna be
Safe in the arms of love

Strip your heart and it starts to snow
Love is a high-wire act I know
Someday I'll find a net below

Someday I'm gonna be
Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love

I want arms that know how to rock me
Safe in the arms of love
I wanna fall and know that love has caught me

Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love

I want a heart to be forever mine
Want eyes to see me satisfied
Gonna hang my heartaches out to dry
Some day I'm gonna be safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love

I want arms that know how to rock me
Safe in the arms of love
I wanna fall and know that love has caught me
Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love
Safe in the arms of love

10. ANYWAY

Songwriters: Mcbride, Martina; Warren, Brett; Warren, Brad;

You can spend your whole life building
Something from nothin'
One storm can come and blow it all away
Build it anyway

You can chase a dream that seems so out of reach
And you know it might not ever come your way
Dream it anyway

God is great, but sometimes life ain't good
When I pray it doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
I do it anyway

This world's gone crazy and it's hard to believe
That tomorrow will be better than today

Believe it anyway

You can love someone with all your heart
For all the right reasons
In a moment they can choose to walk away
Love 'em anyway

God is great, but sometimes life ain't good
When I pray it doesn't always turn out like I think it should
But I do it anyway
Yeah, I do it anyway

You can pour your soul out singing a song you believe in
That tomorrow they'll forget you ever sang
Sing it anyway
Yeah, sing it anyway

I sing, I dream
I love
Anyway

BING CROSBY: LET ME WHISPER I LOVE YOU [`10]

Harry Lillis "Bing" Crosby (May 3, 1903 – October 14, 1977)[3] was an American singer and actor. Crosby's unique bass-baritone voice made him one of the best-selling recording artists until well into the late 20th century, with over half a billion records in circulation.

One of the first multimedia stars, from 1934 to 1954 Bing Crosby was very successful across record sales, radio ratings and motion picture grosses. Crosby and his musical acts influenced male singers of the era that followed him, including Perry Como,[6] Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. Yank magazine recognized Crosby as the person who had done the most for American G.I. morale during World War II and, during his peak years, around 1948, polls declared him the "most admired man alive," ahead of Jackie Robinson and Pope Pius XII. Also during 1948, the Music Digest estimated that Crosby recordings filled more than half of the 80,000 weekly hours allocated to recorded radio music.

Crosby exerted an important influence on the development of the postwar recording industry. In 1947, he invested $50,000 in the Ampex company, which developed North America's first commercial reel-to-reel tape recorder, and Crosby became the first performer to pre-record his radio shows and master his commercial recordings on magnetic tape. He gave one of the first Ampex Model 200 recorders to his friend, musician Les Paul, which led directly to Paul's invention of multitrack recording. Along with Frank Sinatra, he was one of the principal backers behind the famous United Western Recorders studio complex in Los Angeles.

Through the aegis of recording, Crosby developed the techniques of constructing his broadcast radio programs with the same directorial tools and craftsmanship (editing, retaking, rehearsal, time shifting) that occurred in a theatrical motion picture production. This feat directly led the way to applying the same techniques to creating all radio broadcast programming as well as later television programming. The quality of the recorded programs gave them commercial value for re-broadcast. This led the way to the syndicated market for all short feature media such as TV series episodes.[citation needed]

In 1963, Crosby was the first person to be recognized with the Grammy Global Achievement Award. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Father Chuck O'Malley in the 1944 motion picture Going My Way, and was nominated for his reprisal of Father O'Malley in The Bells of St. Mary's the very next year, becoming the first of four actors to be nominated twice for the same character performance. Crosby is one of the few people to have three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

1. SWINGING ON A STAR

Would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a mule?

A mule is an animal with long funny ears
Kicks up at anything he hears
His back is brawny but his brain is weak
He's just plain stupid with a stubborn streak
And by the way, if you hate to go to school
You may grow up to be a mule

Or would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a pig?

A pig is an animal with dirt on his face
His shoes are a terrible disgrace
He has no manners when he eats his food
He's fat and lazy and extremely rude
But if you don't care a feather or a fig
You may grow up to be a pig

Or would you like to swing on a star
Carry moonbeams home in a jar
And be better off than you are
Or would you rather be a fish?

A fish won't do anything, but swim in a brook
He can't write his name or read a book
To fool the people is his only thought
And though he's slippery, he still gets caught
But then if that sort of life is what you wish
You may grow up to be a fish
A new kind of jumped-up slippery fish

And all the monkeys aren't in the zoo
Every day you meet quite a few
So you see it's all up to you
You can be better than you are
You could be swingin' on a star

2. SILENT NIGHT

Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace

Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born

Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth "

In a one horse open sleigh!
Jingle bells jingle bells
Jingle all the way!
What fun it is to ride and sing
In a one horse open sleigh!

Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
O'er the fields we go
Laughing all the way.
Bells on bobtail ring
Making spirits bright.
What fun it is to ride and sing
A sleighing song tonight.

4. LET ME WHISPER I LOVE YOU

Let me whisper I love you,
While we are dancing and the moon's aglow,
Let me whisper I love you,
While we're romancing let me murmur low.

We're meant for each other, here under the palms,
Let me whisper I love you
You're so entrancing dancing in my arms

5. WHITE CHRISTMAS

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
Just like the ones I used to know
Where the treetops glisten
and children listen
To hear sleigh bells in the snow

I'm dreaming of a white Christmas
With every Christmas card I write

May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

With every Christmas card I write
May your days be merry and bright
And may all your Christmases be white

6. I HAVE GOT A POCKETFUL OF DREAMS

I'm no millionaire
But I'm not the type to care
Cause I've got a pocketful of dreams.
It's my universe
Even with an empty purse
Cause I've got a pocketful of dreams.
I wouldn't take the wealth of wall street

For a road where nature trods
And I calculate that I'm worth my weight
In goldenrods.
Lucky, lucky me I can live in luxury
Cause I've got a pocketful of dreams.

7. JOY TO THE WORLD

Joy to the World , the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King;
Let every heart prepare Him room,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven and nature sing,
And Heaven, and Heaven, and nature sing.

Joy to the World, the Savior reigns!
Let men their songs employ;
While fields and floods, rocks, hills and plains
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat the sounding joy,
Repeat, repeat, the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow,
Nor thorns infest the ground;
He comes to make His blessings flow
Far as the curse is found,
Far as the curse is found,
Far as, far as, the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace,
And makes the nations prove
The glories of His righteousness,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders of His love,
And wonders, wonders, of His love.

8. IT HAS BEEN A LONG TIME

Kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time.
Haven't felt like this, my dear
Since I can't remember when.
It's been a long, long time

You'll never know how many dreams
I've dreamed about you.
Or just how empty they all seemed without you.
So kiss me once, then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time.

Ah, kiss me once, then kiss me twice

Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long time.
Haven't felt like this my dear
Since I can't remember when
It's been a long, long time.

You'll never know how many dreams
I dreamed about you.
Or just how empty they all seemed without you.
So kiss me once then kiss me twice
Then kiss me once again.
It's been a long, long time.
Long, long time.

9. O! COME ALL YE FAITHFUL

O Come All Ye Faithful
Joyful and triumphant,
O come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold Him,
Born the King of Angels;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

O Sing, choirs of angels,
Sing in exultation,
Sing all that hear in heaven God's holy word.
Give to our Father glory in the Highest;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

All Hail! Lord, we greet Thee,
Born this happy morning,
O Jesus! for evermore be Thy name adored.
Word of the Father, now in flesh appearing;
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
O come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

MAROON 5: SHE WILL BE LOVED [10]

Maroon 5 is an American rock band from Los Angeles, California. While they were in high school, vocalist and rhythm guitarist Adam Levine, keyboardist Jesse Carmichael, bass guitarist Mickey Madden, and drummer Ryan Dusick formed a garage band called Kara's Flowers in 1995 and released one album in 1997. They reformed, with guitarist James Valentine, in 2001 and pursued a new direction as Maroon 5. The following year they released their debut album Songs About Jane, which contained four hit singles: "Harder to Breathe", "This Love", "She Will Be Loved" and "Sunday Morning"; it also enjoyed major chart success, going gold, platinum, and triple platinum in many countries around the world.
In support of Songs About Jane, Maroon 5 toured extensively throughout 2003–2005, during which time two live albums were released. The band won the Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2005. 1. INFATUATION

Baby, I don’t want to spend my life on trial
For something that I did not do
And maybe if you stopped and looked around some time
I wouldn’t pass right by you

Maybe it’s because you are so insecure
Maybe you plain don’t care
Maybe it’s the chase that really gets me off
I fall so when it’s just not there

Burn another bridge, break another heart
Try again, it will only fall apart

Infatuation
Not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me
It’s such a shame that you shot me down
It would have been nice to be around
I’m touching your skin
If it’s only a fantasy, then why is it killing me?
I guess this must be infatuation (I want it…)

Try to put my finger on what burns me up
It always seems to escape me
And when you have decided that you’ve had enough
Just tell me where I need to be

Now her face is something that I never had
To ever deal with before
She left me with the feeling that she’d had enough

And I’m the one wanting more

Burn another bridge, break another heart
Try again, it will only fall apart

Infatuation
Not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me
It’s such a shame that you shot me down
It would have been nice to be around
I’m touching your skin
If it’s only a fantasy, then why is it killing me?
And I guess this must be infatuation (I want it…)

I’m so attracted to you
The feeling’s mutual too
And I get scared the moment you leave
Get so hot I forget to breathe, yeh

Infatuation
Not seeing the rest of you is getting the best of me
It’s such a shame that you shot me down
It would have been nice to be around
I’m touching your skin
If it’s only a fantasy, then why is it killing me?
I guess this must be infatuation (I want it…)
Ooh (I want it…)
Ooh (I want it…)
Yeh… (I want it…)

2. MISERY

[Songwriters: Carmichael, Jesse Royal; Farrar, Sam John; Levine, Adam; Madden, Mickey; Valentine, James;]

Oh yeah
Oh yeah

So scared of breaking it that you won't let it bend
And I wrote two hundred letters I will never send
Sometimes these cuts are so much deeper then they seem
You'd rather cover up, I'd rather let them be

So let me be, and I'll set you free

I am in misery
There ain't nobody who can comfort me, oh yeah
Why won't you answer me?
The silence is slowly killing me, oh yeah

Girl you really got me bad
You really got me bad
Now I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna get you back

Your salty skin and how it mixes in with mine
The way it feels to be completely intertwined
Not that I didn't care, it's that I didn't know
It's not what I didn't feel, it's what I didn't show

So let me be, and I'll set you free

I am in misery
And there ain't nobody who can comfort me, oh yeah
Why won't you answer me?
The silence is slowly killing me, oh yeah

Girl you really got me bad
You really got me bad

And now I'm gonna get you back
Now I'm gonna get you back

You say your faith is shaken, and you may be mistaken
You keep me wide awake and waiting for the sun
I'm desperate and confused, so far away from you
I'm getting there, I don't care where I have to roam

Why do you do what you do to me, yeah?
Why won't you answer me, answer me yeah?
Why do you do what you do to me yeah?
Why won't you answer me, answer me yeah?

I am in misery
And there ain't nobody who can comfort me, oh yeah
Why won't you answer me?
The silence is slowly killing me, oh yeah

Girl you really got me bad
You really got me bad
And now I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna get you back

Girl you really got me bad
You really got me bad
And now I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna get you back

Girl you really got me bad
You really got me bad
And now I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna get you back

Girl you really got me bad
You really got me bad
Now I'm gonna get you back
I'm gonna get you back

3. MISS YOU, LOVE YOU

[Songwriters: Carmichael, Jesse; Levine, Adam;]

This is not been easy, this has been hard
I am scarred and I do not know what to do with you
Go inside, kiss your mouth, lick my lips, strap your hips
Can't remember why I fell in love with this

I miss you, I love you
It's a shame you can't stay away from me this time, oh no
You beg me, you ask me to kiss you and hug you
You won't be getting my affection again, oh no
I don't need you

Who do you think you are? No one cares about a name without a face
So don't go shooting up the place
Make no mistake, your love's not real 'cause the love I've got is deeper
So much deeper than you can ever feel

And I miss you, I love you
It's a shame you can't stay away from me this time, oh no
You beg me, you ask me to kiss you and hug you

You won't be getting my affection again, oh no
'Cause I don't need you tonight

It was really nice to know you and nothing left to show you
I got bills to pay, get out of the way, it's time to move on
And dinner with your boyfriend will never be the same again
Discuss me over cigarettes and say to him

I miss you, I love you
It's a shame, you can't stay away from me this time, oh no
You beg me, you ask me to kiss you and hug you
You won't be getting my affection again, oh no
'Cause I don't need you

I miss you, I love you
It's a shame, you can't stay away from me this time, oh no
You beg me, you ask me to kiss you, hug you
You won't be getting my affection again, no, no
'Cause I won't need you

4. MAKES ME WONDER

[Songwriters: Carmichael, Jesse; Madden, Mickey; Levine, Adam;]

Wake up with blood-shot eyes
Struggled to memorize
Way it felt to hearing lies
People that made you cry

Feel so good to be bad
Not worth the aftermath
After that, after that
Try to get you back

I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a thought about you

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to try
Yeah, so this is goodbye

Can?t stop my spinning head
Decisions that made my bed
Now I must lay in it
Deal with things I've left unsaid

Want to dive into you
Forget what you're going through
Get behind, make your move
Forget about the truth

I still don't have a reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a thought about you

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you anymore, anymore

I wonder if it even makes a difference
Even makes a difference to try, yeah

And you told me how you're feelin'
But I don't believe it's true anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
So this is goodbye

I've been here before, one day, a week
And it won't hurt anymore
You caught me in a lie, I have no alibi
The words you said don't have a meaning 'cause

I still don't have a reason and you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a thought about you and I
So this is goodbye

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference
Even makes a difference to try, yeah

And you told me how you're feelin'
But I don't believe it's true anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
So this is goodbye

So this is goodbye
Yeah, so this is goodbye
Yeah, so this is goodbye

5. WAKE UP CALL

[Verse]

I didn't hear what you were saying.
I live on raw emotion baby
I answer questions never maybe
And I'm not kind if you betray me.
So who the hell are you to say we
Never would have made it babe.

[Bridge]

If you needed love
Well then ask for love
Could have given love
Now I’m taking love
And it’s not my fault
Cause you both deserve
What is coming now
So don’t say a word

[Chorus]

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?
Don’t you care about me? I don't think so.
Six foot tall
Came without a warning so I had to shoot him dead
He won't come around here anymore
Come around here? I don't think so.

[Breakdown]

Would have bled to make you happy
You didn't need to treat me that way
And now you beat me at my own game
And now I find you sleeping soundly
And your lovers screaming loudly
Hear a sound and hit the ground

[Bridge]

If you needed love
Well then ask for love
Could have given love
Now I’m taking love
And it’s not my fault
Cause you both deserve
What’s coming now

So don’t say a word

[Chorus]

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?

Don’t you care about me? I don't think so.
Six foot tall
Came without a warning so I had to shoot him dead
He won't come around here anymore
Come around here?
I don’t feel so bad, I don’t feel so bad, I don’t feel so bad

[Breakdown]

I'm so sorry darling
Did I do the wrong thing?
Oh, what was I thinking?
Is his heart still beating?

Woah oh ohh

[Chorus]

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?
Don’t you care about me? I don't think so.
Six foot tall
Came without a warning so I had to shoot him dead
He won't come around here anymore
Come around here anymore? I don’t feel so bad

Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don’t you care about me anymore?
Don’t you care about me? I don’t think so.
Six foot tall
Came without a warning so I had to shoot him dead
He won’t come around here anymore
No, he won’t come around here. I don’t feel so bad

I don’t feel so bad (Wake up call)
I don’t feel so bad (Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed)
I don’t feel so bad (Don’t you care about me anymore?)
Care about me? I don’t feel so bad.
Wake up call
Caught you in the morning with another one in my bed
Don't you care about me anymore?

6. SHE WILL BE LOVED

[Songwriters: Carmichael, Jesse; Madden, Mickey; Levine, Adam; Dusick, Ryan; Valentine, James;]

Beauty queen of only eighteen
She had some trouble with herself
He was always there to help her
She always belonged to someone else

I drove for miles and miles
And wound up at your door
I've had you so many times
But somehow I want more

I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile

And she will be loved
And she will be loved

Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful
I know I tend to get so insecure
It doesn't matter anymore

It's not always rainbows and butterflies
It's compromise that moves us along, yeah
My heart is full and my door's always open
You come anytime you want

I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile

Ask her if she wants to stay awhile

And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved

I know where you hide alone in your car
Know all of the things that make you who you are
I know that goodbye means nothing at all
Comes back and begs me to catch her every time she falls, yeah

Tap on my window knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful

I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain
Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile

And she will be loved
And she will be loved
And she will be loved
(Please don't try so hard to say goodbye)
And she will be loved

Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
(I don't mind spending every day)
(Out on your corner in the pouring rain)
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye

7. GOOD NIGHT, GOOD NIGHT

[Songwriters: Levine, Adam;]

You left me hanging from a thread
We once swung from together
I lick my wounds
But I can't ever see them getting better
Some thing's gotta change
Things cannot stay the same

Her hair was pressed against her face
Her eyes were red with anger
Enraged by things unsaid
And empty beds and bad behavior
Some thing's gotta change
It must be rearranged, oh

I'm sorry
I did not mean to hurt my little girl
It's beyond me
I cannot carry the weight of the heavy world

So goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, hope that things work out all right, yeah

The room was silent
As we all tried so hard to remember
The way it feels to be alive
The day that he first met her
Some thing's gotta change
Things cannot stay the same

You make me think of someone wonderful

But I can't place her
I wake up every morning
Wishing one more time to face her
Some thing's gotta change
It must be rearranged, oh

I'm sorry
I did not mean to hurt my little girl
It's beyond me
I cannot carry the weight of a heavy world

So goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, hope that things work out all right

So much to love, so much to learn
But I won't be there to teach you, oh
I know I can be close
But I try my best to reach you

I'm so sorry
I did not mean to hurt my little girl
It's beyond me
I cannot carry the weight of a heavy world

So goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight
Goodnight, hope that things work out all right, yeah

8. MAKES ME WONDER

[Songwriters: Carmichael, Jesse; Madden, Mickey; Levine, Adam;]

Wake up with blood-shot eyes
Struggled to memorize
Way it felt to hearing lies
People that made you cry

Feel so good to be bad
Not worth the aftermath
After that, after that
Try to get you back

I still don't have the reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a thought about you

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to try
Yeah, so this is goodbye

Can?t stop my spinning head
Decisions that made my bed
Now I must lay in it
Deal with things I've left unsaid

Want to dive into you
Forget what you're going through
Get behind, make your move
Forget about the truth

I still don't have a reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a thought about you

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you anymore, anymore

I wonder if it even makes a difference
Even makes a difference to try, yeah

And you told me how you're feelin'
But I don't believe it's true anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
So this is goodbye

I've been here before, one day, a week
And it won't hurt anymore
You caught me in a lie, I have no alibi
The words you said don't have a meaning 'cause

I still don't have a reason and you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a thought about you and I
So this is goodbye

Give me something to believe in
'Cause I don't believe in you anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference
Even makes a difference to try, yeah

And you told me how you're feelin'
But I don't believe it's true anymore, anymore
I wonder if it even makes a difference to cry
So this is goodbye

So this is goodbye
Yeah, so this is goodbye
Yeah, so this is goodbye

9. NOTHING LASTS FOR EVER

[Songwriters: Levine, Adam;]

It is so easy to see
Dysfunction between you and me
We must free up these tired souls
Before the sadness gets us both

I tried and tried to let you know
I love you but I'm letting go
It may not last but I don't know
Just don't know

If you don't know then you can't care
And I show up but you're not there
But I'm waiting and you want to
Still afraid that I will desert you

Everyday with every word whispered
We get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
But nothing last forever but be honest, babe
It hurts but it may be the only way

A web that's warm with memories
Can heal us temporarily
The misbehaving all it makes
The ditch between us so damn deep

Built a wall around my heart
Never let it fall apart
Strangely I wish secretly
It won't fall down while I'm asleep

If you don't know then you can't care
And I show up but you're not there

But I'm waiting and you want to
Still afraid that I will desert you, babe

Everyday with every word whispered
We get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
But nothing last forever but be honest, babe
It hurts but it may be the only way

But we have not hit the ground
Doesn't mean we're not still falling
I want so bad to pick you up
But you're still too reluctant to accept my help

What a shame
I hope you find somewhere
To place the blame
But until then the fact remains

Everyday with every word whispered
We get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
Nothing last forever, but be honest, babe
It hurts but it may be the only way

Everyday with every word whispered
We get more far away
The distance between us makes it so hard to stay
But nothing last forever, but be honest, babe
It hurts but it may be the only way

10. THIS LOVE

I was so high I did not recognize
The fire burning in her eyes
The chaos that controlled my mind
Whispered goodbye and she got on a plane
Never to return again
But always in my heart

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I tried my best to feed her appetite
Keep her coming every night
So hard to keep her satisfied
Kept playing love like it was just a game
Pretending to feel the same
Then turn around and leave again

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

I'll fix these broken things
Repair your broken wings
And make sure everything's alright
My pressure on your hips
Sinking my fingertips
Into every inch of you
Cause I know that's what you want me to do

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And my heart is breaking in front of me
She said Goodbye too many times before

This love has taken its toll on me
She said Goodbye too many times before
And her heart is breaking in front of me
I have no choice cause I won't say goodbye anymore...
