Peter Paul Cetera (play /səˈtɛrə/ sə-terr-ə;
born September 13, 1944 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American singer, songwriter, bassist and producer best known for being an original member of the rock band Chicago, before launching a successful solo career. As a solo artist, Cetera has scored five Top 40 singles, including two that reached number 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
Cetera has appeared in two movies: Electra Glide in Blue, filmed in 1973, where he played the character of Bob Zemko; and Sidney Sheldon's Memories of Midnight, a 1991 television movie made for the USA Network, where he played the role of Larry Douglas. He appeared in the 2010 Adult Swim program Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!.

ALIAS: WAITING FOR LOVE [11]

Alias was a Canadian album-oriented rock/hard rock supergroup band, formed in 1988 by vocalist Freddy Curci and guitarist Steve DeMarchi of the Canadian arena rock band Sheriff ("When I'm With You"), along with Heart founding members Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen, and Mike DeRosier.

The band released its self-titled debut album in 1990 which went gold in the US and platinum in Canada, scoring hits with power ballad "More Than Words Can Say" (#2), "Waiting For Love" (#13) and "Haunted Heart" (#18 on Mainstream Rock Charts). They also recorded the Tonio K song "Perfect World" for the Christina Applegate film, Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Dead.

Alias toured extensively through 1990, including touring with REO Speedwagon. The band also performed twice on The Tonight Show, once with Johnny Carson and once with Jay Leno.

BMI presented Freddy Curci and Steve DeMarchi with the "Million-air award" for "More Than Words Can Say". According to BMI’s web site, only 1,500 songs including "When I'm With You" by Sheriff have achieved Million-air status (one million air plays) among the 4.5 million songs by 300,000 BMI represented artists. One million performances is the equivalent of approximately 50,000 broadcast hours, or more than 5.7 years of continuous airplay.

Alias was featured in the Top 20 AOR Records of All Time, ranked at number 17. The impressive list includes Def Leppard, Foreigner, Toto, Boston and Journey.

In early 2005, an acoustic version of the band's hit ballad "More Than Words Can Say" was released on a VH1 compilation disc, Classic Metal Mania: Stripped.

Also in early 2005, "More Than Words Can Say" was featured in a Subway commercial aired during the Super Bowl.

In January 2009, Alias announced the release of their long awaited second album. This album, appropriately titled “Never Say Never”, was recorded in 1992 and was planned to follow their highly praised debut album, but due to the rapidly evolving music scene of that time where grunge was the on the rise and metal was fading, it was never released. A few of the songs from this album were re-recorded and appeared on lead vocalist Freddy Curci’s solo album Dreamer’s Road, however many tracks remained unreleased. In support of the release of the album, Alias have planned a series of performances for 2009, but the band member lineup for the tour has yet to be announced.

TOTO: I WILL BE OVER YOU [14]

Toto is an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1977. The group currently consists of Joseph Williams (lead vocals), David Paich (keyboards), Steve Porcaro (keyboards), Steve Lukather (guitars, vocals), Mike Porcaro (bass), and Simon Phillips (drums). Toto is known for a musical style that combines elements of pop, rock, soul, funk, progressive rock, hard rock, R&B and jazz. They are regularly associated with the soft rock genre.

David Paich and Jeff Porcaro had played together as session musicians on several albums and decided to form a band. David Hungate, Steve Lukather, Steve Porcaro and Bobby Kimball were recruited before their first album release. The band enjoyed great commercial success in the late 1970s and 1980s, beginning with the band's self-titled debut released in 1978. With the release of the critically acclaimed and commercially successful Toto IV (1982), Toto became one of the best-selling music groups of their era. They are best known for the Top 5 hits "Hold the Line," "Rosanna," and "Africa". Although their popularity in the United States diminished in the 1990s and 2000s, they remained popular internationally, playing only a small number of shows in the USA. Several changes to the lineup have been made over the years. In 2008, Lukather announced his departure from the band, and the remaining band members later went their separate ways. In the summer of 2010, Toto reformed and went on a short European tour, with a new lineup, to benefit Mike Porcaro, who had been diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). Another tour will take place in Summer 2011.

The band has released a total of 17 albums, and have sold over 35 million albums to date. The group was honored with several Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2009.
