Atomic Kitten was an English girl group from Liverpool, first established in 1997.

Created by Andy McCluskey, the trio include Natasha Hamilton, Liz McClarnon, and Jenny Frost who replaced Kerry Katona after her departure in 2001.

Atomic Kitten gained a large fan base across Europe, in particular the United Kingdom and German-speaking Europe. Atomic Kitten also managed to gain fanbases in Asia, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa and to a lesser extent, Canada and South America.

Atomic Kitten had three UK number one singles; Whole Again, the fourth best selling single by a girl group of all time; Eternal Flame, a song originally recorded by The Bangles, and The Tide Is High (Get the Feeling), a song originally recorded by The Paragons and later by Blondie.

Shontelle Layne was born on October 4, 1985, in Saint James, Barbados, to Raymond and Beverley Layne, the oldest of three sisters. Shontelle has stated that she was highly athletic when she was young, participating in track & field while excelling in school. Shontelle's aunt, Kim Derrick, a Caribbean singer, encouraged her to pursue singing. While in high school, Shontelle participated in a group called Cadets in which she was a drill sergeant over Rihanna, which sprouted a friendship.

Shontelle later became a student of entertainment law at Harrison College. She attended the University of the West Indies campus in Barbados and was on her way to becoming a lawyer when Carl Sturken and Evan Rogers heard "Roll It Gal" on the radio, a song that Shontelle had co-written for Alison Hinds, a fellow Bajan artist. ERUPTION:ONE WAY TICKET TO THE BLUES [ 5]

Silent Eruption was formed in 1974 in Britain. In 1975 they won the RCA Soul Search Contest, whilst their first single "Let Me Take You Back in Time" was released in 1976. Finding their success quickly drying out, lead singer Leslie Johnson left the group, and their backing singer Precious Wilson stepped forward to front the band. They went on the road in Germany where Frank Farian, the producer of Boney M., took notice of them. Farian signed the group with the Germany-based Hansa Records and the band supported Boney M. on tour.

After a minor hit single with "Party Party", their cover of "I Can't Stand the Rain" from their first album (December 1977) was a big hit, reaching number five in the UK Singles Chart, and number 18 in U.S. Billboard Hot 100. It was followed by their second album titled Leave a Light launched towards the end of 1978. The first single of the album "I'll Keep a Light in My Window" could not do as well as expected. Fortunately, the second single, "One Way Ticket" (cover of Neil Sedaka's song written by Jack Keller and Hank Hunter ), restored them at the top of the charts (a UK # 9 hit).

Precious Wilson left the group in 1979 to pursue a solo career and was replaced by singer Kim Davis. Although many doubted, the group enjoyed their 3rd German Top 10-hit with "Go Johnnie Go" from the third album Fight Fight Fight, although this time, UK success eluded them. Shortly after, tragedy hit when Kim Davis suffered a fatal brain hemorrhage. The band decided to continue and singer Jane Jochen stepped in. A new recording, a cover of Del Shannon's "Runaway" was released in December 1980 and peaked at #21 in the German charts. After a compilation album in the spring of 1981 and the single release of "You (You Are My Soul)" from Fight Fight Fight, the band signed to Ralph Siegel's Jupiter Records.

By now, without the lead vocals of Precious Wilson, success was drastically diminishing, and their singles from 1981–83, from their fourth album Our Way received little notice. In 1983 Kingsley, their drummer, left the group, and Andi Weekes Barbados joined the band and played the last 2 years and on the singles "Where Do I Begin" and "Brokeaway". In 1985, the group disbanded. In 1994 Farian released the CD Eruption Gold which actually only featured seven Eruption titles (all were remixed), the remaining 13 tracks were all Precious Wilson solo tracks.

In 1997, Precious Wilson became the legal official owner of the trademark Eruption.

She continues to tour as a solo artist promoting her solo projects, and also as Eruption with her new group, none of the band's original members perform in that line-up.

Europe is a Swedish melodic heavy metal band formed in Upplands Väsby in 1979 under the name Force by vocalist Joey Tempest and guitarist John Norum. Although widely associated with glam metal, the band's sound incorporates heavy metal and hard rock elements. Since its formation, Europe has released eight studio albums, three live albums, three compilations and seventeen videos.

Europe rose to international fame in the 1980s with its third album The Final Countdown (1986), which became a substantial commercial success and sold over three million copies in the United States. Europe was one of the most successful rock acts of the 80s and sold over five million albums in the United States alone and over 20 million albums worldwide.[1] The band has achieved two top 20 albums on the Billboard 200 chart (The Final Countdown and Out of This World)[2] and two top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart ("The Final Countdown" and "Carrie").[3]

Europe went on hiatus in 1992, reunited temporarily for a one-off performance in Stockholm on New Year's Eve 1999 and announced an official reunion in 2003. Since then Europe has released three albums, Start from the Dark (2004), Secret Society (2006) and Last Look at Eden, which was released on September 9, 2009.
